New Client

Found Professional user to further our test:

Robert Shapley
Spencer Professor of Science
Center for Neural Science
New York University

The center for Neural Science at New York University have been developing a the physical version of the virtual test we are developing. Once we meet with him and our existing client, we shall implement an enhanced version of the test and bring it to the market to help solve patients with cognitive dissonance disorder.

Areas of Psychology

Our group is considering three areas of psychology that our software would be useful:

Clinical psychologists could use the program to perform assessments and that information analysis by our software and produce a print out of the results.

Industrial psychologists could use the software to give personality assessments and "calculate" the results. This would make it easy for patients to get automatic feedback about their assessment.

Research psychologists could use the software to conduct their studies on a wide scale. Our program will record/analysis/organize data.

Testing and analysis will be based on questions and algorithms the psychologist inputs to the software using XML documents

Information on Psyc Test

Our software ideally will be dynamic and allow psychologists to create new tests using our software. But, we are starting with creating an interface for the subjective contour illusion test as requested by our client.

A subjective contour illusion tests for visual agnosia. Visual agnosia is the inability for a person to recognize familiar objects and/or faces despite the absence of damage to the eye. The cause of this condition can be damage in the right hemisphere of the brain. Specifically the temporal and/or occipital lobe.

The test shows pictures to the subject and asks them what shape they see (in a later posting, you will see examples of these images that we have created). Patients with this disorder are unable to identify incomplete pictures.
